Antimicrobial Peptide to inhibit Multivalent Adhesion Molecule 7 (MAM7)
A novel antimicrobial peptide that will bind to MAM7 and prevent the bacteria from adhering to the cell surface, thereby inhibiting the progression of vibriosis. The antimicrobial peptide was created by mimicking the structure of Heparin Binding Domain(HBD) of Fibronectin.
Binding Affinity Values (predicted):
- ΔG = - 14.7 kcal/mol
- Kd = 1.6 x 10-11
Other predicted properties:
- Hydrophobic:20%
- Acidic: 10%
- Basic: 17.5%
- Neutral: 52.5%
- Net charge at pH 7.4: z = +1.019
Estimated half-life:
The estimated half-life is
- 1.9 hours (mammalian reticulocytes, in vitro).
- >20 hours (yeast, in vivo).
- >10 hours (Escherichia coli, in vivo).
